Refugee women from Pakistan
Project Summary:
70 Pakistani Refugee women, living in the forest area near the Signature Bridge, Delhi. About 100 families of refugees from Pakistan, reside in the area. They came here a few years ago, cleared the forest area and began living in make shift temporary structures. The area has access to wild animals, rodents and dogs. They, are susceptible to many diseases. The families have limited access to basic resources like water and electricity. The women in the camp were using sanitary pads and the problem of disposal has been an area of concern as they were disposing the used sanitary napkins near their houses with other household waste, which lead to not just menstruators but others in the community exposed to many infections.
